How the Course Works
Add this course to your cart at R350. After payment, join Google Classroom with the link and class code we send you. Then work through the course in this order:
- Registration form first — do this before the video or tests. We print the name and details you enter on your certificate.
- Next, watch the introductory session recording.
- Then read the meeting minutes.
- After that, work through the slides.
- Finally, use the study guide while you complete the open-book tests.
The study guide activities help you reflect, check your own understanding, and practise the content. You do not hand them in, and we do not mark them. Instead, only the Section 1, 2 and 3 tests count toward your certificate.
You may keep the tests open book. Therefore you can use the video, minutes, slides and study guide. In addition, there are no due dates. How long you take still depends on what you already know — usually from 1 week to 5 months.
Pass mark for the certificate
- Section 1: 75% or higher
- Section 2: 75% or higher
- Section 3: 75% or higher
- Overall average: 80% or higher
You may write each test as many times as you need until that section reaches 75%. When every section sits at 75%+ and your overall mark sits at 80%+, WhatsApp the course facilitator so we can publish your certificate. Use the same name as on your registration form.

International Accreditation & Global Adaptability
This U6-U10 netball coaching course follows international junior netball practice. It also lines up with Commonwealth, World Netball, sports-governance and education-governance standards. You may then send your certificate to education authorities in your country for CPDT or CPD points. You may also show it to sports bodies as proof of entry-level netball theory. However, that body decides whether it accepts the certificate, awards points, or exempts you from its own entry-level theory course.
You gain an advanced certificate that follows the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) Level 4. We designed it so you can apply the same skills in U6-U12 netball in many school settings:
- World Netball Aligned: Every technical module uses World Netball (WN) coaching principles and “Rules of Netball” protocols.
- NQF Level 4 Aligned: We built the syllabus on SAQA unit standards for entry-level coaching and sports administration.
- Universal Commonwealth School Standards: We also use these global benchmarks so school sport stays well run and well taught.
- SACE Endorsed: ATEACHERSCUP is a registered SACE Training Provider, number PR000001127.
- Multi-Departmental Integration: The curriculum draws on policy from the DBE, DSAC, SAPS, UNICEF South Africa, and Save the Children South Africa.
- Universal Junior Standards: We use Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) so the same ideas travel across netball-playing nations.
- Global Evidence-Based Research: We also draw on sports science and LTPD research from:
- Loughborough University (UK): a global leader in netball performance and coaching teaching.
- Deakin University (Australia): a leader in junior athlete growth and movement science.
- Stellenbosch University & University of Pretoria (SA): experts in high-performance netball and local physical literacy.
- World Netball (WN): the international “Rules of Netball” and coaching frameworks.
World Netball Standards: Adaptable to Any Context
We use World Netball Grassroots standards. Then we show you how to adapt them to the space and equipment you have:
- Injury Prevention (NetballSmart): You focus on landing, ankle stability and knee safety (ACL protection) on grass, asphalt or indoor courts.
- Safe Participation & Safeguarding: You apply “Duty of Care” and “Recognise & Remove” in a way that fits child safety law and still works at school.
- Age-Grade Umpiring (Match Management): You use a simple officiating path — from modified beginner formats through to standard U12 rules.
- Safeguarding & Child Protection (UNICEF Aligned): You protect children and keep the environment inclusive, wherever you coach.
Our Philosophy: “The Love of the Game”
For U6–U10, we put the “Active Start” and “Fundamentals” phases first:
- Physical Literacy: Children build agility, balance and coordination (ABC) through netball movement.
- Inclusion: Every child gets equal game time and coaching attention, whatever their size or skill.
- Character Building: You teach the core values: Integrity, Passion, Solidarity, Discipline and Respect.
- Gender Equality & Inclusion: We also follow UN SDG 5, so girls and boys receive the same coaching quality and resources.
Join ATEACHERSCUP and help the next generation fall in love with netball for life.
We also support the United Nations Sustainable Goals, especially SDGs 1 “No Poverty”, 3 “Good Health and Well-Being”, 4 “Quality Education”, 5 “Gender Equality”, 8 “Decent Work and Economic Growth”, 10 “Reduced Inequalities”, 11 “Sustainable Cities and Communities”, 12 “Responsible Consumption and Production” and 16 “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions”. In addition, we back UNICEF Sport for Development so sport can build child voice, inclusion and whole-child growth.
