Grade 7 Technology exam paper designed for the June 2025 examination period. It is structured as a 1-hour exam with a total of 60 marks and is intended to assess students’ understanding of Technology concepts. The exam paper is provided in a Microsoft Word document (.docx) format, allowing teachers to easily amend and edit the content to suit their specific needs and classroom context.

• CAPS Alignment:
  • The content and structure of the exam are consistent with CAPS in the Senior Phase for Technology. The topics covered (design briefs, levers, structures, technical drawing) are core components of the Technology curriculum for Term 1 & 2.

• Cognitive Level Weighting:
  The exam is designed with a specific cognitive level weighting to ensure a balanced assessment.
  • 30% of the marks are allocated to lower-order thinking skills (Recall).
  • 40% of the marks are allocated to middle-order thinking skills (Understand, Application).
  • 30% of the marks are allocated to higher-order thinking skills (Analyse, Synthesise, Evaluate).

• Section Structure:
  The exam is divided into three sections to assess different skills and cognitive levels:
